I am credibly informed that French arriving on
the convoy from France November 6th brought large
quantities of English currency notes which are now being
hawked about in Beirut. Attempts will probably be made
to smuggle them into Palestine.
Repeated to Jerusalem, Cairo Commander-in-Chief of
Mediterranean.
