Sir,
I am directed by Mr. Secretary Eden to transmit
to you herewith to be laid before the Secretary of State
for India, six copies of a Foreign Office memorandum of
May, 1935, entitled "The Seven Independent Arabian States",
giving a brief outline of each of the seven States at the
time of the Arab rising against the Turks in June 1916.
2. I am to request that, if no objection is seen,
copies of the memorandum may be communicated to the Government
of India, His Majesty’s Consul-General at Bushire and the
Political Agents at Bahrain and Koweit, the remaining copies
being for retention in the
India Office
