I am directed to refer to your letter
No.F.512-A/47 of March 21st 1949 and to enclose
a statement showing the expenditure by the Public
Works Department in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. during the
financial year 1947-48 amounting to Rs.1,63,975/8/-
The expenditure was incurred for the Arab posts
in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. .
2. The figures have been obtained from the
accounts maintained by the Treasury Officer,
Political Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. , Bahrain and since all details
of these accounts were sent regularly to the
Accountant General, Central Revenues, New Delhi,
it is suggested that his office should check the
total expenditure, particularly as there is now no
accountant in this Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. who is familiar with
the Government of India accounting system.
3. We have no record of the expenditure incurred
in the Persian posts.
