letter under reply that Sir Header
Bullard be instructed to invite the
attention of the Iranian Government
to the note addressed to them by
H.Ji . Minister on the 16th July, 1934,
and to inform them that H.i>. Govern
ment maintain the view expressed
therein that they are unable to
recognise any claim by the Iranian
Government to territorial waters

The issue is discussed by various British officials, especially the Foreign Office, Admiralty, and HM Minister, Tehran. Folios 84-120 discuss Persian jurisdiction over the outer anchorage in Bushire. Folios 9-79 discuss the concession area held by the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, in view of the fact that potential oil fields lay under the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , partly beyond the three-mile limit, but within the twelve-mile limit claimed by the Persian Government.
