Bahrain of an •agreement with the representatives of the
D’Arcy Exploration Company for the grant of exploration and
prospecting licences, and in due course, of leases for the
exploitation of oil in their territories* The main features
of the agreements which it is desired should be secured, as
disclosed in the correspondence cited, are summarised for
convenience in the attached memorandum* Colonel Trevor will
no doubt be given discretion to adopt whatever procedure vis
a vis the Sheikhs he thinks most likely to lead to the attain
ment of the object in view: it is observed from his letter
