With reference to Foreign Office letter
ho.K 15775/4881/234 of December 2nd last relative to
consular posts in Persia staffed from the Indian
services, I am directed by Secretary Sir Austen
Chamberlain to transmit herewith, for the information
of the Secretary of State for India in Council and
for such observations as he may wish to offer, a copy
of a despatch on the subject from His Majesty’s
Charge d’Affaires at Tehran.

to the Secretary to the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. in the
