direction of affairs. In the meantime Tehran Khans who saw a chance
of regaining their former position and realised that this chance would be
prejudiced by disorder in Bakhtiari were practically forced to accept Zafar
and Ashja as only combination that could carry on Government. They
accordingly telegraphed to other Khans in Chahar Mahal in this sense.
