The cost of the proposal to increase the bonus on
the salaries of the Head-Clerk and Head-
Munshi
A term used in the Middle East, Persia and South Asia to refer to a secretary, assistant or amanuensis. Munshis were employed in the British administration in the Gulf.

30 per cent, to 55 per cent, amounts to about £82, of
which India would be required to pay half. The
proposal has been subjected to careful examination by
the Foreign Office, and it is proposed to ask the
CoYernment of India to agree as in the draft letter.
