3. On 24th November 1928, the then Political
Kesident telegraphed to the Government of India that the
situation at Sur must be considered to be a domestic
problem of the Muscat State, but in advancing this opin
ion he left it to be inferred that H.M.Government should
assist the State in some way to solve the problem. The
question was how far H.M.GoTsrnment were prepared to
advance on the policy, then being followed, of bolstering
up the Mascat State.
