With reference to your D.O.T. 37589 relative
to the proposed ComiDeroial Mission to the Persian
Gulf and Mesopotamia, and in continuation of my
letter of the 3rd August, I.am commanded by the Army
Council to inform you that a telegram has been received
from India to the effect that the General Officer
Commanding in Mesopotamia having agreed, no military
objection is entertained to the proposed visit. The
Chief of th*» General Staff, India, adds that it is
presumed that the Secretary of State ^iH» if necessary,
refer the Commercial aspect of the visit to tne
Government of India*
