With reference to your memorandum P.2592 of
the 17th July regarding a proposed commercial mission
to the
Persian Gulf
The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran.
and Mesopotamia, I am directed
to enclose herewith a copy of a letter addressed to
this Department by the War Office, stating that the
General Officer Commanding in Chief, Mesopotamia, has
no objection to the proposed visit.
I am to add that upon receipt of a notification
from the War Office regarding a reply from the General
Officer Commanding in India, the Department of Overseas
