period during which the balances standing to the credit of the
Government shall amount in the aggregate to the sum of Rs.100,000
such current accounts being (except where the context otherwise
requires) hereinafter collectively referred to as “the current account.”
The Bank to credit 2. The Bank shall receive and place to the credit of the current
with monies paid in account of the Government all monies which shall be paid into the
cheques drawn by Bank by or for the account of the Government and such monies if paid
persons thonsed into the Bank shall be credited to the Government and subject to the
provisions of this Agreement the Bank shall pay all cheques drawn on
the current account of the Government by any persons or person duly
authorised in writing by the Governor or the Crown Agents to draw
against such account.

3. During every period during which the balance standing to
the credit of the Government on the current account shall for the time
being not amount to the sum of Rs. 150,000 the Government shall
pay interest to the Bank on the difference between the amount of such
balance and the said sum of Rs.150,000 at such rate as shall vary with
and shall never exceed the lowest rate at which the Bank shall for
the time being be making day to day advances to its most favoured
customers.

ing Rs. 100,000.
4. The Bank shall from time to time and at any time
during the continuance of this Agreement advance to the Govern
ment such sums by w^ay of overdraft on the current account of
the Government as the Government may from time to time demand.
Provided that the aggregate of such advances for the time being
remaining unpaid shall not at any one time exceed the sum of
Rs. 100,000 but within such limit as aforesaid the Bank shall not
during the continuance of this Agreement be entitled to require any
such advances to be repaid the Government nevertheless being at
liberty to repay all or any part of the same as and when it may think
fit. And the Government shall pay interest on the amount of such
advances for the time being at such rate as shall vary with and shall
never exceed the lowest rate at which the Bank shall for the time
being be making day to day advances in the Colony to its most
favoured customers.
