Memorandum.
Q
I have been in negotiation recently with the Manager of
the Eastern Bank Ltd. with reference to the opening of a
branch at Mosul. After investigating the prospects of Mosul
trade, he now informs me that, subject to the consent of his
Directors, which has been applied for, he will be in a position
to open a branch there in about one month, and has already
taken steps to secure premises and staff.
I should be obliged if the C.O.C. area could be informed
formally that permission has been accorded to the opening of
the branch.
