will give such a strong background to the whole affair
and Mr. Greswell expressed his satisfaction that such
an arrangement was to be made.
I shall write to H.E. the Sheikh of Kuwait and
let him know of the new plans about his son. If you
should wish to see me regarding the subject matter of
this letter I can come along any time suitable to you.

This file contains correspondence regarding plans for Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah, one of the sons of the Ruler of Kuwait, to study in the United Kingdom. Much of the correspondence is between John Gilbert Laithwaite of the India Office The department of the British Government to which the Government of India reported between 1858 and 1947. The successor to the Court of Directors. and Gabbitas, Thring & Co Ltd., an educational consultancy based in London. The file also contains correspondence between Laithwaite and the Ruler of Kuwait, Shaikh Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah and a number of private tutors based in Oxford that were considered as potential hosts for Muhammad.

The file includes a divider, which gives a list of correspondence references contained in the file by year. This is placed at the back of the correspondence.
