I refer to your letter of the 18th November about the foreign
**^wances of Messrs. Stobart and Andrew in the
Persian Gulf
The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran.
. This was
held up here pending our sanction for the posts themselves being given
to the Foreign Office. This has been done and we can now agree that
Messrs. Stobart and Andrew may each be given a provisional allowance of
£500 with effect from the day after their arrival in the
Persian Gulf
