letter of the 24th February,
1917, No. 0164/3617 (D.P.W.),
regarding the internment in Malta
of certain Indian deportees from
the Hedjaz, I am directed by the
Secretary of State for India to
enclose, for the information of
the Army Council, copy of a
telegram from the Viceroy report
ing that Mr. H. Burn C. S. I., late
Chief Secretary to the Government
of the United Provinces, has been
instructed to visit Malta on his
way to this country for the
purpose of interviewing the
interned Indians.
I am to request that, with
the permission of the Army Council ,
the necessary facilities may be
accorded to Mr. Burn during his
stay in Malta. ^ U.
