With refereace to our telephone conversation of today, I enclose
/ copy of telegram from the Acting Governor General of India to the
Secretary of State about a proposal that Sir O.K*Caroe, the Secretary
to the Governaent of India in the External Affairs Department,, should
visit OyIon. lord Wavell sees no objection, and subject to the .
concurrence of the Colonial Office our Secretary of State *odld _
propose to inform the Acting Governor General that he agrees^ Yfe
should be glad to learn as soon as possible vhether you agree. I
should emphasise that the invitation emanates from the Governor of F
