causeway seven miles long running into the sea north-east of
Dammam with berths for two ocean-going vessels. There will be
standard gauge railway from the wharf to Dhahran. The work
is expected to be completed in twenty months* time. It seems

^/affected by this project. There is some idea of eventually
extending the railway to Riyadh.
