meeting of the merchant community. The main natter for dis
cussion was the best method of distributing literature
received from the Board of Trade by the Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. among the
merchant community. it was decided to place it in the local
''Chamber of Commerce" room where it could be consulted by
those interested. The Director of Customs was among those
present.

This file contains fortnightly intelligence summaries produced by the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. in Bahrain from August 1946 until December 1947. A handwritten note on the cover of the file states that the summaries from January to July 1946 had been mislaid.

The reports, marked as secret, were sent to the Government of India, the India Office The department of the British Government to which the Government of India reported between 1858 and 1947. The successor to the Court of Directors. , and numerous British diplomatic, political, and military offices in the Middle East. The reports are divided into short sections that relate to a particular subject. Contained within the file is intelligence on the following topics:
