We have to infom you that consequent

the above lines, a statement has been received from
the Director, Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. Section, Karachi, copy of
which is attached herewith, giving particulars of the
subsidy p^ments hitherto paid to certain Chiefs of
that country in return for the protection of the lines
passing through their territories.
We shall be glad if you will be good
enough to advise us if the payments claimed are correct,
and whether thqy will properly fall to be borne by this
Company in the future.
