2nd November 1939,
Dear
I am sorry for the delay in replying to your
No. F2 5310/39 of the 7th September regarding the cost of wireless
sets for the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , and to your subseQuent reminder
No. FZ 5493/39 of the 25 th October.
The Ministry of Information favour the supply of
wireless sets at Government expense : and if the India Office The department of the British Government to which the Government of India reported between 1858 and 1947. The successor to the Court of Directors. find
themselves unable or unwilling to pay, the cost will presumably
be borne by this Ministry.
In practice, the arrangements for the supply of these
sets have been undertaken by the Communications Dept, of the
Foreign Office. Would it be convenient if that Department
were to act on behalf of the India Office The department of the British Government to which the Government of India reported between 1858 and 1947. The successor to the Court of Directors. in this matter?
