Traffic across land frontier in precious stoneSo In view
of reports from more than one source. Government of India
propose to prohibit import by land from Persia of cut
diamonds immediately, pending institution o r limited lend
customs regime. It is presumed that cut diamonds are not
produced in Persia and, therefore, proposed measure would
not infringe Article IV of Persian Tariff Autonomy Treaty,
in that prohibition is not against products of Persia. Before
issuing orders, Government of India would be glad to kno r
if you see any grave politioal objection to proposed
measures.
