This file contains correspondence between British officials regarding the provision of medical facilities on the Trucial Coast A name used by Britain from the nineteenth century to 1971 to refer to the present-day United Arab Emirates. including the political reasons for doing so. Specifically, the correspondence discusses the opening of a medical dispensary in Dubai in June 1939.

The file also contains a limited amount of correspondence related to the opening of an American Mission hospital in Qatar in 1947.
