•British aircraft* means an aircraft registered under th
law of amr part of His Majesty's daninions, protectorates, ^
protected states or mandated territories, other than |
Iio\Teit, Bahrein and Qatar. .
(n a British subject as defined in the Bntish Nation; I I,
of Aliens Act, 1914(a). in the case of persons born before the
entry into force of that Act, any person who is a British subject under
the Common Law and the Acts repealed by that Act;
(ii) foreigners subject to this Order under Article 8 (1) (n) (ii) thereof.
" British ship ” means a merchant ship, being a British ship within the
meaning of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894(b), and, except where the
rontext otherwise requires, includes a ship belonging to any Bntish subject
as herein defined.
“ British subject ” means and includes—
(1) any person who is a British subject as defined in the British
Nationality and Status of Aliens Act, 1914, or, in the case of persons
born before the entry into force of that Act, any person who is a
British subject under the Common Law and the Acts repealed by

(2) British protected persons;
any corporation incorporated under the law of any part of His
Majesty’s dominions, protectorates, protected states or mandated
territories.
“ Chief Court ” means a Court held by the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. as here
