(a) The Order applies only to non-Muslim foreigners,
(bj The subjects of the other Arab Shaikhdoms
are not treated as British Protected Persons, i.e.
they come within the jurisdiction of the Shaikh.
It should be noted, however, that these subjects
are not at present excluded in the definition of
British Protected Person. Theory would, therefore,
seem to be at variance with practice and some
amendment is called for.

The Trucial States A name used by Britain from the nineteenth century to 1971 to refer to the present-day United Arab Emirates. Order reverts to the wording
of the Bahrein Order. It was probably felt that
this wording was best suited to meet the special
conditions of the Trucial States A name used by Britain from the nineteenth century to 1971 to refer to the present-day United Arab Emirates. . But as a general
model, the wording in the Kuwait and Qatar Orders
would seem to be better, i.e. "Foreigners within
the limits of this Order".

This article appears in the Bahrein and Kuwait
-rders, but not in the Orders relating to Qatar

should be included in any future Order.
