We receive here from various sources Intelligence
Reports on all the Middle East countries but we learn little
or nothing of what is happening in India and Pakistan beyond
what we see in the papers and in the fortnightly political
appreciation issued by the Ministry of Information and Broad
casting, New Delhi. Presumably some kind of Intelligence
Reports are compiled about events in the two Dominions.
Would it be possible for you to arrange for this Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. and
the Political Agencies to be supplied with copies ? We still
have many connections with India here and are responsible for
the welfare of many Indian subjects. It is, I think, important
that we should receive accurate information regarding the
Indian political situation. We ourselves send copies of the
Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India.
