Acting Residency A diplomatic office of the British Government established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. Surgeon and I do not consider that a double set of rooms
is necessary. Pew females travel unattended. Though few ships come to
Bahrein the duty is arduous, as ships lie a very long way out, and it was for this
reason that I suggested one hundred rupees. If this is considered too much,
perhaps half (?) the allowance paid to other Assistant Surgeons, viz., Rs. 75
might be given to the Bahrein man.
