Translation of a note from the Persian Minister
of Roads and communications, addressed to His Majesty’s
Chargd d’Affaires. Ho. K)931 dated Shahrivar 6th 1312
(August 28th, 1953).,
Monsieur le Chargd d'Affaires,
Vith reference to the letter of Murdad 24th
last (August 15th, 1933) addressed to me hy Mr. L.
Baggaliay in your absence ff regarding the material and
articles required by the Zahedan-Mirjawa railway, I have
the honour to inform you that in the course of conversa~
tions X had with you on July 15th last, 1 requested that
you oay take stops with a view to moving the Indian
Railway Administration to operate again at an early date
their section of the railway up to the Persian frontier
eo that the Imperial Government may prepare the means foa
operating their section of railway from Zahedan up to the*
frontier end that as eoon ae the Indian Railway
Administration have agreed to this object and taken
steps thereon, the Ministry of Roads will, in their turn
take steps in reepect of preparation of material and
articles required for the operation of the railway.
Some time ago you stated to me that you had
referred the matter to the concerned quarters and that
you were looking forward to receiving a reply to your
communication.

This volume contains correspondence regarding wide-ranging negotiations that took place between the Persian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the British Legation in Tehran, the aim of which was the agreement of a bilateral treaty between the British and Persian [Iranian] governments in order to resolve a number of outstanding issues including the status of Basidu.
