Majechy ’3 Government had simultaneously examined the questions
of Banrein, Tamo and Sirri; His Majesty's Government had no
doubt about the first fv/o, ana with regard to the last were
content not to disturb the status quo , though they regarded
the Per^j.an tito.e as doubtful. If the Persian Goveri^nent
then showed signs of taking up this challenge, whether
directly, by appeal to the League, or indirectly, by molesting
Arab anows or persecuting Bahreinis, His Majesty's Government
should take the initiative by forcing the issue on one or other

This volume contains correspondence regarding wide-ranging negotiations that took place between the Persian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the British Legation in Tehran, the aim of which was the agreement of a bilateral treaty between the British and Persian [Iranian] governments in order to resolve a number of outstanding issues including the status of Basidu.
