As you will see from the latest correspondence, the
Resident has been in touch with the Air Officer Commanding,
Iraq, and we hope that the latter will be able to arrange
for the discussions between the R.A.F. officers and the local
authorities to take place as soon as possible. 7/e cannot
really get much further in our consideration of this question
until we know the result of these discussions.
Copies of this letter are being sent to the Foreign
Office, Admiralty, War Office and Petroleum Department.
