necessary to us, but, should the present state of
transport and shipping improve,so that we carry out our
scheme, we should ask you to assist us in securing hr.
Brandley’s return, for, unlike the case of hr. Hildebrand
we have no one to replace him and our interests in
Kerman are too large to be left in the hands of a junior
who.se experience of the business is quite limited.
We also fear that if we do not employ Mr. Brandley
he may be sent out for some competing firm, or even start
on his own account later on, which would be a serious
blow to us.
With this exception the object you have in view
of employing Englishmen in ohe future will have our
strongest support, and, at the same time, we venture to
hope that no exception would be taken to the employment
of subjects of Allied nations, members of our staff in
Persia now fighting for their respective countries.
