done, and that is -.the purchase from the German Consul
by Mr. Bruggemann, a Swiss subject, the Agent for the
German Carpet Company, of these goods, property which
he must have known were confiscated from a British
Company, is irregular, and this is a fact that I do
not think the Swiss authorities would support.
In view of the information you gave me yesterday I
fear there is nothing to be done, but my anxiety is what
to do with the staff who have arrived safely at Bunder
Abbas. If there is only a remote chance of their return
ing to Kerman it may be advisable to have them reton to
Europe. On the other hand, seeing that we should have no
one there to return to Kerman in the event of the
restoration of the Persian Government proper, I am loth
to instruct the Manager to come away unless the present
position is likely to be of long duration.
Yours, &c.,
(Signed) Jas. Baker.
P.S. Would you kindly return the documents at your
convenience.
