6* The morning of the 10th February produced a dense
fog, through which at 10.00 hrs. the droning of the flying-
b<6at, with Air Vice-Marhhal Burnett on board, could be heard.
These fogs are exceedingly common in this locality
at this season of the year and are said locally to be pro-
duced by the condensation of the ^US (moist southerly
breeze) on contact with the SHAMAL, or cool northern wind.
7. After considerable search the flying boat was
located as having landed at DIFAYAT, some 10 miles north

first point it was desired to explore, i.e. a coastal KHOB
(KHOR ggAWI) in SAUQRAH BAY. A landing was effected at a
point 18°• 35 1 N. E. on the morning of the 12th
February. The KHOB was located some five miles further
north and the neighbourhood explored, without much success,
for a possible landing ground in the vicinity of the KHoR.
The terrain for several miles round the KHOR,
appeared to be of a heavy sandy nature, covered with low
