Rangoon left for KHOR JARAMA as insufficient daylight
remained to allow MUSCAT to be reached. KHOR JARAMA
was reached at 1630 hours; there were a dozen dhows
at anchor and almost as soon as we had tied up, natives
arrived in the hope of helping us to refuel, but as it
was necessary to put in at MUSCAT to collect kit which
had been left behind to reduce the load, no fuel was
required.
29. The Rangoon left KHOR JARAMA at 0630 hours and
our intention was, after refuelling at MUSCAT, to go on
to DIBAI for the night, but on arrival we found that
there was a very heavy swell with a stiff breeze blowing
dead across it and there was very little prospect of
being able to get off. It was therefore decided to
spend the day at MUSCAT and to try to leave at dawn
next morning. During the winter months, when a wind
from the North may usually be expected, MUSCAT seems
to present considerable difficulty for flying boats;
