Government of Bombay
From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions.
have not given any
opinion about the publication of this Agreement in the revised
edition. Though a dead letter now, it appears to be important
and, with the permission of His Majesty’s Government, it is
proposed to publish it.
6. No.(8) is an inter-tribal agreement confirmed by the parties
concerned in the presence of the Resident, Aden, under which the
Kathiris agreed that the Treaty of 1888 between the British
Government and the Kaiti will be binding on them. The Government
of Bombay recommend its publication and the Government of India
agree, provided there is no objection on the part of His Majesty’s
Government.
