I now observe from enclosure to your despatch o'fc,
19th November No,136 that Sheikh Hafiz .Vahba has been (
informed that there is no intention on the part of H.I.i,
Government to dispose of question of these raids in
opposition to Ibn Soud^ wishes. This assurance appears
to conflict with decision of HGovernment as records
in your telegrarasNo.M and 61 that Ibn L*ashhur raice
should be examined by investigator and that H.U.Government
were unable to accept Hejaz Government disclaimer of
responsibility in regard to these raids.
Maodonnell informed me he is unwilling to take
account of these claims against Hejd in his recommendations
unless claim against Syrta is entirely abandoned. Before
I reply finally to him T should be glad to be given if
possible further information ns regarde prospect of H.L'I.
Government including in its award Trans Jordan claims
