I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your
letter No of 27-2-25, and in reply thereto I would
point out that in the first place there would appear to be
three different authorities dealing with this matter, namely:
The Deputy Accountant General, Baghdad.
The Accountant General Central Revenues, Calcutta.
The Controller of War Accounts, Bombay.
As a consequence when I write to you I am
referred to the others, and when I do so then the original
correspondent states that I have not answered his letter.
Iurther I have been asked on various occasions to submit
vouchers or papers in support of a particular claim, and
when I have done so I am asked oy another of the above to
produce vouchers already submitted to one of the others.
In consequence of this triangular, or when the -u^d ia
Office intervenes - quadruple correspondence, although I
have refunded the sum of Rs:858.15.9 as I claim in final
settlement of this matter, it appears that on the contrary
the claim against me is not only not reduced, but still
further increased.

deal with this matter with the authority who dealt with my
xrivate account, gave me the authority to draw the Rs:15,000

It includes correspondence regarding arrangements for the visit, but most of the correspondence relates to expenditure on the visit, including: the question as to how far the Government Hospitality Fund accepts responsibility for the expenses connected with the visit, including the payment of an interpreter; and the adjustment of the account of Major Norman Napier Bray (Political Officer attached to the Bahrein Mission) in connection with the Bahrein Mission.
