Qatar, to the Political ;\gent, Bahrain.
After Compliments.
I have received your kind letter dated the 5th
Thul Hijja 1352 equivalent to 21st March 1934 and was
pleased to know that you are in a good health. I thank
you for the kindness and noble feelings which you have
elegantly expressed in your letter. I have received the
trees which you were so kind to send me and 1 am grateful
to you for that, as you found them grow when you planted
them in the Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. garden, you desired to send me some of
them to plant in Hayyan, I have to thank you for your
generousity and good care. i actually had them planted
in my garden in Rayyan as a remembrance of your good
friendship and kind attention. I hope that they will
grow up as you hoped so that you may be pleased to see
them on your visits to me which I hope will be continuous.

The two exchanged petitions on behalf of locals from Bahrain and Qatar respectively. The petitions were mainly regarding claims of debts, properties, stolen boats and inheritance. Debtors from Qatar fled to Bahrain, hence the Ruler of Qatar requested for them to be seized. The Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. in turn replied with the available information about the named subjects at his end. The same procedure was done with the Bahraini debtors who fled to Qatar.
