On 26th November the Muscat geological party joined
forces at Hafit with the party of geologists belonging to the
eame Company who had started from Abu Dhabi. On 28 th November
both parties proceeded to Baraimi in which neighbourhood it is
proposed that the party from the Trucial Coast A name used by Britain from the nineteenth century to 1971 to refer to the present-day United Arab Emirates. will stay to
carry out further examination of the ground before returning
to their base while the Muscat party are due to proceed via
Sohar to Muscat in the first week of December to commence their
operations in the south of the Sultanate.
On 8th November in the Wadi A seasonal or intermittent watercourse, or the valley in which it flows. Hawasanah about 30 miles
west of Kh.burah some shots were fired on the hei^hs of the
District who was accompanying the geologists. This incident
was however found to be entirely due to a private feud and no
hostility was shown to the members of the party itself, bhe
matter has since been satisfactorily settled by the hiltan.
Up to theend of the period under review the geologists have
met with friendliness in all the districts so far visited.

The services of Subedar Mehr Khan officiating
Commandant Muscat Levy were dispensed with by the cultan with
effect from the 23rd November. He left for India on the 2nd/
December.
