has arrived a certain Major-General Alexander Ivanovich Numigarmtsky,
who is connected with the Bolshevik commercial enterprise. It is believed by
the Consul-General that this man was Military Attachd at the Russian Con
sulate at Sistan prior to the withdrawal of the Russians from Persia.
Khorasan Border.—The Governor of Bajgiran has received a report from
the head of the Russian Special Department at Gaudan that a Russian post
at Galol hill in the Askabad district has been attacked by Kurds and that
four Russians have been killed. The Governor professes to know nothing ot
this attack.
A force said to number 400 men has been got together by the Governor of
the Sarakhs, Zorabad area, at the frontier village of Garmab m order to make
an attack on the Baluch, Karim Khan. In order to oppose this force, the
Bolsheviks have collected at Pul-i-Khatun a force of 300 men.
Trans-frontier .—It is reported by a deserter from the 17th Simbirsk
Kegiment that Cossack rebels attacked Simbirsk on October 18th and took
the town. A Meshed report states that supply trains are being held up a n( f
nnmmnniats and Jews killed by the rebel party operating between Tashkent
and Orenburg.
Propaganda .—There is no cessation of the propaganda in the Vernacular
in Khorasan. An obvious precaution has been taken in the case of the most
recent example which has come to hand in that it bears no date. The
November 2nd issue of the “ Izvestia ” published in Tashkent compares the
famine in India to that in Bussia, and declares that no help is given by the
Government of India.

telegram of the 26th October, No. 79.
Information has been received from the British Vice-Consul at Yezd that
a man, named Trafimoff, supposed to be travelling as a Bussian Agent and
accompanied by an alleged Persian giving the name of Sayid Habibullah
arrived at Nain on the 22nd September and departed from Yezd on the 27th
September. They are said to be proceeding to Kerman to purchase carpets.
Kerman has been informed.
It is believed that Pugin himself used the name of Habibullak when he
. was in Persia.
