I Beg to inform you regarding the real news of the
Mutair and i hn Subah.
firstly regarding Q,aryah (Garaiyat or Jariyah).
This place is the ’’dirah" and camping ground of the Bushan,
(family of Paisal, al Dawaish) and the Mutair from old times
and now it is inhabited by part of the Mutair #ho formerly
used to inhabit Ai-Ratawiyah but who left because of some
local ill-feeling among them. When Bin Saud entered Kasa
recently the Mutair came and asked him to give them ’’Q.arayah
this he did: The place is not within the borders of Bin
Subah, whose boundaries are known to start from Al-Sutaihiya
or even further northwards. After the ’hotair encamped
(under ihn Shqair) at CJaryah, Bin Subah sent them a party on
camels; but without letters. This party daid to Ibn
Shaqair the headman, "leave at once or we will attach you."
Ibn Shaqair replied that Bin Subah was not his Chief, but
that Bin Saud was, and that he would refer the matter to him
for orders.

In this connection correspondence discusses the supersession of the Anglo-Turkish Convention 1913 by the British Government's 1915 agreement with Bin Saud in which he pledged to resolve disputes by peaceful means and submit to arbitration by the British Government. In addition the correspondence discusses potential hostilities between the Ruler of Ha'il led by the Rashidi dynasty of the Shammar tribe and the Ruler of Nejd, Bin Saud. Also discussed is the Battle of Jahra and the involvement of British military forces by air and sea.
