I asked Minister of the Court for indication
of points Persian government wished to raise.
His Excellency Mentioned the frontier line on
the left hank of Shall-el-Arab'. I said that this v/as
a question to he raised with Iraq government
after recognition. He said that he recognised that
no agreement could he made till then hut would it he
possible to discuss the question with a view to an
agreement after recognition. I said that I did
not think so. He enlarged on the unfairness to
Persia oi the present frontier which should according
to universal custom he in mid stream. He cited
other points on land frontier with Iraq. I gave
no encouragement. \
He then mentioned the'treaty of 1857 and
perpetuity of most-favouredHnation clause. I said
that this was a big question which it was useless
to raise before May 10th. Hfe agreed hut indicated
that Persian government wished to raise it.
He indicated slavery convention of 1882 as
derogatory to Persian dignity. I expressed no
opinion.
He motioned nothing else except Bahrein about
which he said that Persian government were sending
reply to British note.

This volume contains correspondence between British officials concerning agreements between the British and Persian governments related to the suppression of the slave trade in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. . Much of the correspondence is between officials at the Foreign Office, the India Office The department of the British Government to which the Government of India reported between 1858 and 1947. The successor to the Court of Directors. and the British Legation in Tehran.

Specifically, the correspondence relates to discussions concerning the drafting of an article relating to slavery in a proposed Anglo-Persian Treaty and the revision of the Anglo-Persian Slavery Convention of 1882. Specific incidents regarding slavery in the region are also discussed intermittently throughout the volume.

In addition to this correspondence, the volume contains several extracts and drafts of agreements (most of which are in French) and the following documents:
