against the Persian Gulf Historically used by the British to refer to the sea area between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. Often referred to as The Gulf or the Arabian Gulf. Lighting and Buoying Service on account
of the vessel which performed the normal duties of the R.I.M.S*
“Lawrence" during the period the latter was refitting in the
Bombay Dockyard and to forward, for information, a copy of the
correspondence noted in the margin.
