As you are aware It has Been decided that th
expenditure connected with the limiting and buoying of the
Persian Gulf
The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran.
should be recovered by dues levied on shipping
using the limits, and that, according to information received
from the High Commissioner for Iraq, such dues are being
levied at Basra and Abadan from the 1st November 1925.
2. All expenditure incurred in connection with the
Persian Gulf
The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran.
Lighting Service since the 1st November 1925
should therefore be met from these dues. Certain formalities
have , however, to be gone through for the opening of a
special account in the Imperial Bank of India, Bombay, for
receipts and expenditure connected with the
Persian Gulf

Lights and also in regard to the accounting and auditing
thereof, and until these are settled it will not be possible
to make any disbursements from this specie! account. In the
circumstances the Government of India have decided that with
effect from the 1st November 1925, disbursements to
Establishments and other expenditure should, as a temporary
measure,continue to be met from the general revenues, the
Payments being treated as "Advances Repayable" on the books
of the Controller of Marine Accounts, Bombay. The amount
