TFith reference to Marine Department letter Bo. 122-M. ,dated
29th January 1923, I have the honour to state that at the time of
issue of my predecessor’s letter Bo. 4594/1-., dated 11th June
1921 the minimum pay of Royal Indian Marine Clerks was Rs. 85/-
and the maximum Rs. 155/-, and it was intended that the clerk
doing lighthouse work should draw the same rates of pay or in.
other words that the appointment should be filled by one of the
Royal Indian Marine Clerks.
2 . In view of the above it is presumed thot the lighthouse
clerk will be a Royal Indian Marine clerk drawing the pay of the
