I am directed to say that the Government of India
have had under consideration certain proposals submitted by
the Inspector of Lights, Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , for the re-organiza
tion of the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. Light Service, with a view to
increasing the existing strength and raising the present
rates of pay and generally improving the conditions of
service the personnel employed at the several light
houses and light-ships in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. .
2 . owing to present financial conditions, the Govern
ment of India have not been able to agree to the larger
proposals made, but, in view of the rise in the cost of
living, they have recognised the clear necessity of raising
the present rates of pa y which were fixed in 1915, and they
jhave accordingly sanctioned a revised scale of pay, at an
additional co'st oTSLlL^ P er annum, for the existing
staff, as shewn in the enclosure to aarine Department |
