I hr.ve just received a letter da.ed Septemoer 29th
from Captain Pazluddin giving news anterior to that
reported in my telegram No„ 356
Sayed Senoussi informed Fazluddin that he v/as
received at Mecca with much honour hy Sheikh *iS Sada on
hehalf of King Hussein and Sheroex. Ahdulla and during
40 days stay had five interviews with the King and his
son at v/hose repeated requ&sts he finally agreed to act
as intermediary for opening negotiations with IdrisAg.
After stating his strong desire for a good understanding
with Idrisi e.rd his previous efforts to effect this King
Hussein said c What a blessing it would he for all of us
Arabs if we the Arab Chiefs come to a mutual, settlement
acceptable to all. Our union will prevent- strangers
entering our land c * The occupation of Hodeidah by
British is due to dis-union between Imam Bin Hamid Uddin
and Imam Idrisi* King mentioned visits of Imam of
Sanaa 1 s representatives to seek for assistance against
Idrisi but stated he had put them off®
Speaking of Bin the Shereef said “The Sayed smould
not have allowed Bin to come to Asir and commit sucn
outrages there* He is the common enemy of us all**®
Shereef finally suggested opening peace nogotxauions
