4. In order that the full political effect of such action may be attained
it is desirable that there should be no further delay and I am, therefore, to
ask that the matter may receive the very early consideration of the Lords
Commissioners.

From—The Hon’ble the Agent to the Governor-General and Chief Commissioner in
Baluchistan, Quetta,
To—The Foreign Secretary to the Government of India in the Foreign and Politi
cal Department, Delhi.
Duzdap reports arrival there on 31st of mixed force about 700 strong in
cluding 3 mountain guns, two machine guns and one Lewis Gun. Officer
Commanding Duzdap line has interviewed Salar Amjad who states he
expects 300 more reinforcements from Seistan shortly and has received in
structions from Tehran to wait arrival Major Dennys before proceeding
Khwash. With 300 men previously at Duzdap Persian force now there
is nearly a thousand.

My telegram 41 (? Serial No. 211 ). Zargham has now come in and object
of expedition has been attained in full. Z has agreed to pay revenue due and
to supply camel sowars for army.
Immediate effect on Jiruft should be very great and indirect effects on
country in general greater.
General Officer Commanding has agreed to place garrison of 500 troops
at Bam. This should make Narmashir and Jiruft safe and bring prosperity
to one of most fertile spots in Persia. Troops are being enlisted from
Garmsir districts.
