Dear Laithwaite,
u
With reference to your letter No.P 725/30 of
January 30th about the Arab n Protectorates ,, and the
Commercial Treaty negotiations with Persia, I enclose
a copy of the letter which I sent to Clive on January 30th
in accordance with your draft.
We do not ourselves see any necessity for sending further
instructions to Clive regarding the most favoured nation
treatment of nationals of Persia and Bahrein. The
instructions contained in paragraph 4 of the Foreign
Office despatch No.600 of December 5th (see enclosure in
our letter No.E 6303/33/91 of December 9th) seem to us
to be sufficient as they stand. If, however, you feel
that something more is required, I hope you will let us
know.
You will remember that the formula quoted in our
despatch No.600 would give to Persian nationals in Bahrein
M the
x.Laithwaite, Esq.
