Enclosures Nos. 3-6 of Despatch No. 4 from the Secret Department, Bombay Castle, dated 22 February 1860. The Enclosures are dated 17 January-13 February 1860. Received 21 March 1860.

The Enclosures concern affairs in Abyssinia, and the intention of Brigadier William Marcus Coghlan, Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. , Aden, to undertake a tour of the Red Sea in order to gather intelligence on the activities of the French there.
